Chunky Monkey Smoothie Bowl

I don’t know about you, but when I hear the words “Chunky Monkey” I know it MUST include bananas, peanut butter, & chocolate… 3 of life’s greatest treasures. Now, when I hear the words, “Chunky Monkey” followed by “Smoothie Bowl” my mind goes to a thick, ice-cream-like smoothie that is beautifully blended with bananas, chocolate, and peanut butter- and most likely has toppings that are similar to the ingredients. YUM! Pass the Chunky Monkey please!

How did this smoothie bowl come about?! Well, I wish I had a great story for you, but I don’t. It basically came from my 3 favorite things: banana, peanut butter, & chocolate — in that order. And when they are blended together in a delicious Chunky Monkey Smoothie Bowl, that is when the magic happens.

Oh, don’t mind the peanut butter smeared spoon. When you enjoy this smoothie bowl, I suggest adding an additional scoop of peanut butter to your spoon so that there is creamy peanut butter in every bite. 🙂

Smoothie Bowl Love

I have been loving smoothie bowls lately, especially in the heat of Summer! It is so refreshing to come in from a long, outdoor walk in the sunshine and dive into a creamy, frozen smoothie bowl!

I mostly use bananas as the base of my smoothie bowls. Blended frozen bananas have the consistency and creaminess of ice cream. They are so good! Mangos do too. If you don’t like bananas, I have found that avocados and mangos are great substitutes, I just don’t use them as much because I love bananas! If you would like more recipes that don’t include bananas, let me know! What type of smoothies, smoothie bowls, or juices are you interested in?!
